❄️ EA 229 — Frozen Condensate Pipe (Most Common)

The EA 229 error is the most common Worcester Bosch fault code in winter. It means your condensate pipe — the white plastic pipe that removes acidic water — has frozen or become blocked.

How to fix EA 229 yourself:

  1. Find the condensate pipe (white plastic pipe exiting through an outside wall)
  2. Pour warm (NOT boiling) water along the pipe
  3. Or apply a hot water bottle to the frozen section
  4. Once thawed, press the Reset button on the boiler for 3 seconds
  5. The boiler should fire up normally
If the boiler keeps showing EA 229: There may be a blockage rather than a freeze. Call FE Maintenance — we'll clear the blockage and insulate the pipe to prevent future freezing.

📉 H07 — Low Water Pressure

The H07 error means your boiler pressure has dropped below the minimum required level (usually 0.5 bar). This is a common fault that you can usually fix yourself.

How to repressurise a Worcester Bosch boiler:

  1. Turn the boiler off and let it cool for 10 minutes
  2. Find the filling loop (usually a silver braided hose under the boiler)
  3. Open both valves slowly until the pressure gauge reaches 1.0-1.5 bar
  4. Close both valves
  5. Turn the boiler back on
If your boiler keeps losing pressure: You may have a small leak in the system. Call FE Maintenance — we'll trace and fix the leak to stop the problem recurring.
